The goal of this project is to use an autonomous helicopter equipped with adequate sensors for inspection applications in facilities, buildings, construction sites, structures and objects in locations where personnel access is difficult and involves high risk or cost. In this project, the following activities are carried out:

1) Development of  innovative computer vision and image processing techniques to estimate position and heading of interest objects, obtain automatic thermographies and achieve the fusion of infrared and visual infomation.

2) Development of telerobotic techniques that simplify helicopter teleoperation to perform the above-mentioned inspection tasks, including autonomous hovering.
