EUROAVIA Sevilla
EUROAVIA Sevilla.
The European Association for Aerospace Students.
The
ink of the Treaty of Rome, creating the first truly European community,
is still fresh when the idea for a cooperation between aerospace
students sees the light. The town of Aachen, Germany, is the setting
for the meeting between different aerospace students from across
Europe.
On 16 March 1959, the creation of the European
Association of Aerospace Students becomes a fact. Aspiring to be a
representative association for all European aerospace students,
EUROAVIA rapidly expands throughout the whole of Western-Europe.
After
the fall of the Berlin Wall, the expansion goes eastwards, creating
affiliated societies in almost every major East-European country. In
order to remain coherent, a structure was created where an
international board oversees all societies but where each affiliated
society remains autonomous.
Today, EUROAVIA has 33
departments in 17 European countries, from Portugal to Ukraine.
Consisting of about 1200 members, EUROAVIA has constantly stimulated
contact between students and the aerospace industry. Besides creating
new contacts, the society has provided students time and time again the
opportunity to exchange ideas and places with other students throughout
Europe.
EUROAVIA Sevilla is one of the youngest and most energetic affiliated society of EUROAVIA.
On September 28th 2009 they were officialy granted the titel of 'affiliated society'
after organizing a very succesfull FLY-IN (March 2009).
