Activity Report of IEEE/CSS IAC to BoG

1. There was an smooth transition of Committee chair. I acknowledge the support and patience of Bozenna Pasik-Duncan in this matter.

2. The list of Active Control Group supported by the IAC IEEE/CSS is being updated. This was an initiative started by Michel Gevers and the list was kept in Michel’s web site and has been moved to the IEEE/CSS IAC web page. I have written to all active groups asking for an update of their information, a short activity report and I also wrote to IAC members to inquire if they could name other groups in their region that could be listed. The list is been updated, it will be discussed in the IAC meeting and transferred to the IEEE/CSS IAC web page in the near future.

3. I was talking to Mrs Dietlind Jering from the IMS Program Secretariat of the European Commission in order to organize a meeting with the EU officials concerning the IMS program during the IFAC world congress in Barcelona. The IMS initiative is very interesting for this Committee as it opens up the possibility of funding research projects with research teams from Europe, America, Australia and Japan. I asked the member of the Committee for their disposition to participate in the meeting and I got very favourable responses. This will be discussed in the next IAC meeting.
