The committee met at the CDC in Maui (December 11, 2003) with a good attendance. The Committee discussed the following points:

*    List of Active control groups: Ways of increasing the participation of those groups in IEEE/CSS activities and also to maintain the list and the addition of new groups were discussed.

*    Control around the Globe: This initiative consist of getting a series of reports about the state of control in different countries of the world to be published in the IEEE CSS CSM under the heading of "Control around the Globe". The first report about Russia has been commissioned. A first draft of this report has been produced and was discussed. Although the report had many good points, it needed polishing. I discussed with the author ways of improving the report and he is going to deliver a new version. I have contacted people in Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Costa Rica and Uruguay to prepare a report for their countries. A draft of a report about Brazil has been written and is being revised at the moment. The IAC still believes this idea is very important for the main objectives of the Committee.

*    Distinguished Lecturers Program: The Committee fully support the program and some ideas of how to make this program better known were discussed.

*    Travel Support Program: The possibilities of modifying the Program and its implementation where discussed. The general opinion of the Committee was that the IAC fully support the program main objectives, although changes in the procedures may be advisable in order to facilitate the implementation to Conference organizers.
